We re going to do the work for you and find out if a 250 dollar ebay projector is worth the money or if you re just wasting your money on a piece of car. Now we filmed a little bit of a quick unboxing to show you what actually comes with this guy. And yeah. Let s let s check that bit out first so there s all of the plastic. Why don t they just use less plastic.

That s the one thing. I love buying about random things on ebay. You actually never know what you re getting anyways. There s a ziplock bag with all of the things you ll need to get this guy running there s a vga cable.

100 simple beam of 500 poe plus with the cherry on top all jokes aside. Though it actually has quite a bit of i o on the rear. It s got a headphone jack and av input. Two usb inputs two hdmi inputs ethernet and yeah.
That s kind of interesting hmm and yeah vga because it s 2001. Okay let s talk about what you actually get for your hard earned money. Though. The projector outputs an impressive 3500 lumens of brightness.
Which in most cases is decent given how little money this project that actually cause the projector. I m just going to keep calling it the projector. Because the names are just too confusing. I actually don t know what to call it anyway.
The projector can support after 4k inputs legitimately. A 4k input. We actually tested it and it does work. However.
The drawback is the native resolution. What you thought you re gonna get true 4k for two hundred and fifty dollars that you re dreaming the native resolution is only 1280 by 800. Which is 80 pixels higher than 720p and i ll be honest with you even though. The number on paper is quite low for today s standards in fact.
It s quite low for 2008 standards. When you get up on the wall. That actually looks really really good now we tested it in 1080p. Playing battlefront 2 on our rising gaming machine.
With all of the settings maxed out. And it looked great and it was very very playable. I didn t actually notice any input lag and found myself playing for 2 hours. Without actually realizing that i was playing for that long so.

It must have been pretty good right that being said the only way you could tell it s running a lower resolution is if you get right up close and pixel peep. But on the subject of pixel peeping. One of the other things that was weird about it was how bright the image was and how bright. It was when you turn the brightness down.
It s actually not a bad thing because i was expecting this projector to be worse than it actually really is honestly my expectations are pretty low and all of the things that i ve just talked about brightness can be adjusted via the settings menu pretty pretty easily. The projector also has a built in keystone. Which has about 15 degrees of adjustability. What does that even mean well.
If you have the projector on a slight angle. Pointing either up or down you can change the angle of the image on the wall. The only thing that wasn t consistent was when we had it set up on a low angle. And the keystone of full tilt.
All the sides went out of focus and i was going mad trying to figure out why it was doing that yeah i straightened the projector out. And all was good that s called user arrogance. Oh yeah make sure you have it pointed directly at the wall. This projector also has a little itty bitty trick up its sleeve.
It s got android 6 built right in now be although the implementation is actually quite seamless. The only drawback is the speed of the experience now the cpu and gpu combo they re using is pretty sluggish at best and on the daily android users so that s probably why i noticed it more than other people would but one cool feature that i found was the implementation of the google play store now you can install any android app that you want even things like netflix and plex youtube even instagram and google chrome. If you wanted to browse the web. I mentioned earlier that in the user guide it talks about a website to visit for more information well in the android settings.
There was a super vague mention of being able to use a remote app to control the projector. Which is actually more convenient since navigating android. With the included remote was probably one of the worst. Remote controls periences.
I ve ever had in my life. I don t usually care with having to input things like user name and passwords at the regular tv remote. But this is like way worse than that and the input lag was made it basically unusable. I eventually found what happy had to use to control the projector.

Me. You ll be searching for a while speaking of connectivity. It has usb on the back and supports most of the file formats that you re going to throw at it. So it ll support.
Most video image and audio formats and blah blah. It s also got wi fi and bluetooth. And also ethernet. I mentioned that before.
But let s rewind and talk about that bluetooth like most things these days. We want them to be wireless and connecting a sound output is no exception. The bluetooth implementation is awesome we tested it by connecting it to a samsung sound buy and also to the pros own it s a r12 mixer via bluetooth and it worked flawlessly all right i m gonna level with you i know you re all waiting for this bit. Why is it so cheap how can they make it only cost two hundred and fifty dollars well it s because it s loud and then tonal speaker.
Sounds like alright let me explain the internal speaking just sounds metallic and well lifeless. It would probably sound a lot better if you could actually hear it over the sounds of the wheezing jet engine that ignites every single time you turn it on seriously. It s loud here have a listen for yourself okay you guys ready yawning. Hear how loud this thing is alright.
This is how loud the f. 16. Jet is without right anyways back to the rest of the review. Okay so for 250 is that worth it i think if you re looking for a projector as some kind of secondary type of display and you re not using it for your main home theater setup.
Then 250 dollars is probably well spent. But if you have a whole room to set it up and use this as your primary home theater setup as well let us know how you go because i want to see if you actually implement it this way. If you search evaluators for half of the price with half of the brightness and literally half the resolution they may be pretty good. But to be honest.

I didn t want to take a chance of them given how bad brightness has been on other projectors that i ve seen does that make sense. I don t know also although the projectors output is quite bright. You ll probably need to close the blinds. It s actually pretty forgiving with ambient light.
But yeah don t be too concerned. It s it s okay. But yeah just close the blinds in conclusion. It s cheap not nasty.
It performs a bit better than you d expect for a projector that only costs 250 per side from the fact that there s an f 16.
