wood computer cases This is a topic that many people are looking for. passionistsisters.org is a channel providing useful information about learning, life, digital marketing and online courses …. it will help you have an overview and solid multi-faceted knowledge . Today, passionistsisters.org would like to introduce to you DIY Handmade Wooden PC Case!. Following along are instructions in the video below:

“Of you have noticed on social media. Another person helping out with the channel. His his name is byron. He s a good friend of mine.

And he does a of work behind the scenes and it s because of this help that i ve been able to upload two videos. A week consistently for the last couple of months. Anyway recently byron had the idea to build a pc case out of wood. I know it sounds a little crazy.

But he did it and it looks absolutely stunning so instead of me talking about his project for the rest of the video. I m gonna hand it over to him and he s going to take you through the process and the finished product before i get started. I want to say that this video is not going to be a tutorial on how you make this case for yourself. If you want a video like that though make sure to let me know in the comment section down below.

And maybe that s something we could do in the future. I came across this idea a little over two weeks ago. Asked matt for the go ahead and got to work when i started to plan..

.

I realized that it was going to be much more difficult than i originally thought all of the parts that fit inside a computer are engineered perfectly down to the thousands of an inch. I knew what the tools that i had at my disposal. There was no way i can match that accuracy. I knew there was different ways i could approach this problem.

I thought i could just use a diagram of the motherboard standoff. Locations and drill those into the wood panel for mounting. But i quickly realized that i would run into problems with mounting the pci accessories and attaching the i o shield. After pondering a few other solutions to this problem.

I came up with what you see here. I sacrifice an old computer case that i had laying around cutting out the panel that held the motherboard standoffs and drilling out the rivets that secured the mounting points for the i o shield and pci expansion slots. I use this the corsair 600 t. At the donor case for mine.

Any other computer case really would have worked. Though it doesn t really matter. I was also able to salvage the hard drive rack from the 600 t..

.

And i mounted it into this case. It looks a little out of place in my opinion. But it s not really bad enough to bother me. When i decided to spend over 20 hours building this case.

I set aesthetics at a very very high priority on the outside of the case. I countersunk all of the screws that use an oak dowel and some wood glue to fill in the holes. This made the joining of the pieces of pier more seamless when i was drilling. However the bit would catch on the border of the hole and would tear up a chunk of it took away from the aesthetics.

A little bit. But there s nothing i could do about it i m thinking that when i do my second or my third coat of glaze. These holes will be completely leveled off and filled in but i m really not too upset about it i mean it makes it really have this hand look feel and not like it. Just came off of an assembly line somewhere from the old 600 t case.

I managed to salvage the circuit board that held the power switch. The reset switch. The led indicators as well as the microphone and headphone jacks..

.

I ended up really liking the way the exposed pcb look so i mounted it to the side of the case in plain sight. It is still perfectly functional and practically located for turning the case on and off the next problem that i had to solve was mounting the power supply. And my initial idea was to make a complete enclosure for it that would secure it. But that s not what i ended up doing after i cut the hole in the back of the case for the power supply to fit through.

I realized that it was the perfect size and attention. The hole alone would hold the power supply securely in place. Now. After all the cuts were made and the pieces were assembled.

I took it apart and i started the standing process looking back on it i definitely should have stained a test piece of wood instead of just jumping right into it because it turned out a little darker than i would have liked but you live and you learn i guess after the stain. I put on a single coat of clear varnish on the entire case before putting all the components back into it. The case is not completely finished yet though it s messing the whole throughout the wires. It s missing the absolute components.

It s also missing the cover to protect the internals. But it s not finished. I don t know what i want to do it the point of this video was to prove a concept that if you had the time determination some basic woodworking skills that you could make a beautiful case from scratch..

.

This is by no means meant to be a money saving solution. I mean the varnish. The wood the screws the stain all in all cost me a little over 100 you can save yourself a lot of time and money by ordering a case online and having it shipped to your house. I ve been thinking about taking other stab at this case starting completely from scratch and i m confident that with knowing what i know now that i d be able to make a much more functional as well as aesthetically pleasing case.

If you d like to see me do that and make a series owner perhaps leave a comment down below or if you d like to see me make something else tech related leave a comment down below. And i ll be checking through them. So yeah. That was my first video.

I m still getting used to being in front of the camera instead of being behind it like i usually em but bear with me while we go through this transitional phase anyways. Thank you guys for watching subscribe to see more content and as always stay ” ..
