“Guys so today. I am here with a first impression my hair. Looks bizarre because because we are going to be trying out a new hair product that i ve hearing about a lot on youtube. This is one of the electric straightening hair brushes this one is called simply straight.
I think there are a few different ones. But this is one of the as seen on tv. Products i got mine at. Walgreens i want to say it was 3999.
At walgreens. So this is basically supposed to act as though it s a straightening iron is supposed to straighten your hair. But just from brushing it with this cool thing so it heats up to 450 degrees fahrenheit. It says it heats up fast and it s great for travel um.
It says where did i see it um. It has yes a 60 minute auto shut off so it will turn off after an hour. If you forget it on it does have an lcd screen that will show you the temperature. It does have adjustable temperature control.
And it has a six foot swivel cord for hassle free use um. The bristles on it are 3b ceramic. And it was to be gentler. Um straightening your hair.
And it s not supposed to pull or tug thy hair um. So the special ceramic coated bristles heat up to just the right temperature to gently relaxed hair as you brush leaving you with silky smooth straight hair in just minutes. It does have a bunch of before and after pictures that look very promising. I mainly want to try this out um to see if it works on short hair.
I have a horrible time straightening especially the back of my hair. You guys can see it i do have naturally curly hair and since i have cut my hair short. I ve seen a lot of that natural curl come back particularly in the back of my head. Where the hair is the shortest um and i think just because it s a lot of i have a lot of regrowth and it s my natural hair.
Kind of coming back from a lot of damage. If you guys don t know my hair story. I know i m thinking about doing a like hair disaster story. Um.
A whole separate video. But anyway. My hair has been severely damaged. And so i had to chop a lot of it off like quite a lot of it unfortunately.
And i just have a really hard time straightening the back of my hair and also trying to straighten the hair up here is causing. Even more heat damage and i m getting more breakage. I m not sure if you guys can see up here. But long story short.
I hate how my hair looks right now. And i m going to try this out to see if it saves time with straightening. If i can get still get a good look and style without putting a ton of heat on my very damaged hair. I m trying to avoid heat.
But unfortunately the haircut that i have is one that doesn t look good if it s not styled. This is fresh out of the shower. I let my hair air dry and this is kind of what we have going on you can tell that it s the ends are very very damaged and fried. I actually am due for another haircut and trim here.
So yeah. We re just going to test this baby out. See how well it does with straightening short hair and see. If i don t know hopefully.
There is nothing as far as like breakage goes or anything like that so this is what the product itself looks like it looks pretty much just like a regular brush. It s a little heavier than a regular brush. It says on this sticker caution hot surface the surface becomes hot. When product is in use.
So..
I m going to be paying attention to see if this gets hot. I am horrible with burning myself. When i m curling my hair or straightening my hair. And i tend to my hand tends to move up whatever item.
I m using so if this back piece gets hot that might be problematic for me here is the lcd screen. I can take this sticker off now um here s the led screen that will show the temperature. I don t have it plugged in yet you have a plus to add temperature and a minus to decrease and then of course a power button and i take this sticker off as well so it doesn t get stuck on there and then these this is what the bristles will look like so you can see there are black bristles kind of on the outside. I don t know if you can see it on the outside and then on ones in the middle kind of all around in here have the pink ceramic plate around them and that is supposed to what that s what is supposed to distribute the heat evenly and help to straighten your hair um.
The bristles on the outside are not really rubberized plat just kind of a smooth plastic. But then the tops of the bristles that are inside of the ceramic pieces do have kind of silicone filling to them so i m hoping that those will not catch on the hair and pull it or tug. It or break. It or anything like that it does have a swivel cord.
It s supposed to be i think they said six feet long. So we are going to plug this in and i m going to see how long it takes to heat it up because it does say that it s supposed to heat up fast. But it doesn t say an actual time all right so i am going to power. It on and you can see it lit up it automatically says 71 degrees fahrenheit.
Let s bring it to i m going to bring it to 365 i do not think okay there it go so it let s see if we can get it in under a minute here. So the degrees are going up by like one degree a second it s at 76 degrees fahrenheit right now let s see i don t feel any heat yet okay while that is warming up. I m going to go ahead and spray my hair with a heat protectant. So i m just using the tresemme thermal creations.
Heat teen heat tamer and even spray. This is what i ve used for a long time. I recently tried one by paul mitchell. It s their hot off hot off the press heat iron memory spray.
But it is more like a hairspray and i don t like it at all um. I m actually going to see if i can return it to the salon that i got it from i kind of got it on a whim. I was checking out and was like hey. I need a heat protectant spray and they gave that one to me.
I was like cool and then i paid for it and i didn t really test it out or anything. And i already know that i don t like it because it makes my hair. Very crunchy. When it sprays in so.
The device is now at 125 um. This right. I m feeling a little bit of heat off of here. I don t feel anything on the back of this yet.
So let s go ahead and spray the hair. One thing. It does say with the instructions for using this is to make sure you comb your hair out very nicely. So that there aren t any tangles because if there are tangles in the hair.
Obviously. It s going to be more prone to pulling and tugging. So it has been let s see it s been 2 minutes. Now and it s not warmed up yet i mean it s warming up.
But it s not the heat that i set do you guys see my hair breaking off when i brush it i can see it all over the place. And it s very sad i tell you guys if i ever went into the hairstylist that did this she s going to get a piece of my mind all right. It is at 216 220. Now.
I m getting more heat. Here. It s not burning my hand at all so i m touching like this those silicone bristles on top of the ceramic hurt ooh um. The silicone these little silicone balls here do not get hot so i m assuming that s to kind of protect your scalp and everything um.
If you touch the pink part which i just did the pink ceramic plate is very hot um. The back of it is like lukewarm. I would say it s not at all to the point that it would burn my hand or fingers. Oh.
We re at 262 now so i m also just going to kind of section off some of my hair to make this process..
A little easier okay so it is at 3 40. Almost there this is getting a little bit warmer. But still not to the point that it would burn me as you can tell i m holding my hand against it and we re at 350 um. The only thing i think it goes by fours it does not go like for every degree um.
So i m actually going to turn it down a little bit to 347 so it s just under a little under 350. It s a little warm on the back not to the point that it would burn. Obviously if i held it here for a long time it would start to get a little heated alright. So i am just going to brush through my hair.
Once more and i m going to turn around here so you guys can see the back of my hair. So hopefully you guys can see that and i m in focus. So i can tell that it straightened. It a little bit.
I m actually going to bring the brush underneath the hair and pull it down this way just so it s making better contact with that ceramic plate. So i did catch it or i felt it catch a little bit on my hair back here. So that did a pretty good job. It s just from i can t i don t have a mirror to like look at the back of my hair.
But just from what i m feeling um. That did actually a little bit better than what my straightener does i have a pretty good straightener. I ve had it for a long time and i love it um. I just have a hard time straightening these back pieces like i said because there is a lot of natural curl.
And i just brought myself um. So one thing to be careful i think that the brush it works better if you bring it this way underneath the hair because then the hair is making more contact. But in doing that i m kind of pulling the hair over the brush to make sure. It s in there be careful doing it because i ve touched the pink part a couple of times.
Now so that s straightened really well i don t know if you guys can see that okay let s move on to this side over here. Now i am going to section this off in half. As well okay. So i ve got some curl in here.
It s pretty much what it looks like right now. I m going to brush this through and i m going to try and just straighten this as you would coming down and see what happens since this part is a little bit longer oh that s trained really well i don t think. It s necessarily going to be if you re someone that has really frizzy hair. It might not be like pin straight.
But i would totally use this on my way to work in the mornings. Because it s really fast. I feel like i don t have to do as much work with this as i do with my straightener. Okay now i m going to come under it again.
I want to see if i can add just a little bit of curl to the end right not really so. It s definitely straightening out some of kind of just the crazy fluffiness but like i said it s not pin straight. There are definitely still pieces like right in here close to the scalp that are still not straight. I think that you re probably just not going to be able to get that close to your scalp um.
Because the hair is just not going to touch that far in to the ceramic plate so far. I m pretty impressed though and it leaves your hair. Very soft and i didn t feel any breakage. It s kind of scary at first because the silicone piece.
I guess. There is one hair hope you guys see that there s one hair that caught. But the silicone pieces here kind of touch the hair a little bit um. They don t necessarily pull.
I don t feel any pulling. But you can kind of hear it if that makes sense. Which is kind of scary. It was kind of scary when i first heard it soz like oh my god it s catching all of my hair and it s gonna yank it out.
But it actually glides through very nicely you just can tell it s pretty straight from what my hair was so let s let down this other section. Here and this is part of what has been really hard for me to straighten. It s definitely all of the hair. That s kind of sit on top of my head um actually want to section it off one more time.
But the hair..
That s sitting mainly on the top of my head is what has been the hardest part for me to straighten since i ve had all of that damage and it s also the part that i need to try and avoid heat with so it s kind of a catch 22. Because it needs the most work. But i should be spending the less amount of time on it because of the heat. You okay.
That was kind of scary feel like definitely if you have damaged hair. I don t know i don t know about that um. I don t know if it s the that my hair is damaged or if it s the silicone. But i definitely felt it kind of it didn t want to come through my hair.
That that time. And i got almost scared me that it was frying my hair off. But i don t see any pieces of my hair in here. So maybe.
It s just a matter of working it through. I definitely would not hold this in one place in your hair. I could see that being something that would cause more damage. But so far i m liking it okay now for the really difficult spot do you guys see this hair right.
Here that s like all the length. I saw and this is just from breakage my hair was not cut this short right here. The new salon. I m going to um that did this haircut that i currently have they did not cut it this short.
This is just my hair continues to break off so badly and we are doing moisturizing treatments and things like that my hair is just literally. It s so far gone. It was so badly destroyed that we basically just have to wait for it to grow out and continue to cut off the parts that are dead um. She destroyed my hair.
So bad. That it the strands are literally too like the very last core of the strand. So there s no way to build it back up and strengthen it through like protein treatments or anything. Because it s just there s nothing there left to like absorb any type of protein so literally we re just waiting for my hair to grow so that we can continue to chop.
It off so my hair is going to be staying short for a while while all this crap um gets cut i m really afraid to straighten this part just because there s so much damage already okay. I m just going to keep brushing. It with a regular brush. While i run the other one through it because i really want to avoid any tangles um or anything so doing that it glides through really nicely not catching it all so that s nice less scary than i thought so it did a fairly good job of straightening.
I have like i said like this piece right here is really really close to my scalp. So i m not sure that it s going to be able to really straighten. It um let me see if i can just get this piece you guys. It s so as a female.
I suppose even if i was a male that had like longer hair as a female. It is so saddening to see your hair literally powder and flake off every single time you brush. It oh man so it did a pretty good job. I will probably go back around like the parts that frame my face.
I would probably just go back in with a flat iron anyway its straightening them well enough. But they still look a little bit frizzy almost i would say but that did pretty good for straightening. The side of my head alright guys so i am going to straighten the rest of my hair. And i will be back in to show you the finished situation alright guys.
So i just finished using the brush on the rest of my hair. I will switch around to the back. So you can see the back of my hair. And here is this side so like i mentioned i do need a haircut.
I have a lot of ends. That just need to be trimmed off and stuff like that so that s mainly where i saw it was a little bit hard to get it straight was here on the ends. And then like i mentioned kind of these really close kisa. The pieces that are really really close to my hair are my scalp.
It was really hard to try and get that straightened as well as kind of this like bang area um. Other than that i m really impressed it did a really good job of straightening. The hair um. I feel like it did a fairly good job in the back throughout the day my tent my hair the back of my hair tends to start kind of flipping outward.
Whether that s just because it s resting on my neck um or like i mentioned that natural curl..
That s kind of coming back. But this did pretty pretty much the same job that my straightener would do whether it would replace it or not i m not sure i think if i had longer hair that took forever to straighten. I would love this brush because it s just so much easier to just run it through and straighten the hair. But yeah i mean it definitely works um like i said.
I don t think that i would get rid of my flat iron just for this because i would use my flat iron for those shorter pieces. If you re someone that has shorter hair. You re probably not going to be able to get close to the scalp with this if you have really really curly hair. I m gonna say also that like if like starting at your roots your hair.
Is really curly and kind of has that crimp to it um. You re not going to be able to get close in there without almost burning yourself. I will say that this does not i really only burned my hand my fingers. If i was trying to turn like this and my finger just got a little too close to that ceramic.
But just in general use of this it doesn t get so hot that it s burning you they have this nice pretties nice protective bristles the silicone on top of here protects your scalp my scalp never got hot and definitely never felt like it was getting burnt um. The silicone pieces. I do see now that it was catching a little bit of the hair kind of around the silicone. So the silicone can pull pulls away from the ceramic.
Just a little bit and in that tiny little space. It was some of the hair was kind of wrapping in there. And it did pull a little bit. But nothing too too too drastic so overall my thoughts on this i think it definitely works um.
I first saw that like it was kind of gimmicky. I do still think that it s a little gimmicky. But hey it works if you re someone that hates straightening your hair. But you want that straight look.
I would say try this out especially like i said if you have long hair. I cannot tell you how much i hate straightening my hair when it used to be longer. I hated straightening it because it took forever and i felt like i could never get the straightener through and i had to section off all these pieces i feel like this will do a pretty darn good job. If you re just running it through your hair and then maybe up underneath that it s going to straighten the hair pretty well.
I do have a fairly fine thin hair definitely thin. At this point with all the damage. I have going on um. So just throwing that out there my hair is fine and thin.
I m not sure how this would work on someone with thick hair or coarse hair. That would be something that you d have to just kind of try out. But i would definitely recommend this like i mentioned i got mine at walgreens. It was thirty nine dollars.
I saw some online that were like three easy payments of yada yada. There was one that was a little bit cheaper than this but the degrees were in celsius and i don t know about you guys. But i do not speak celsius. So i didn t even want to deal with that i was like i ll pay a couple extra dollars at walgreens to have it now not have to pay for shipping shipping and handling and to have it in fahrenheit.
That s just kind of one of those things that i don t know if it s important to many people. But that was something that i wanted so yeah let me know how you guys liked this. What d you think of this first impression and if you ve tried this out before and what you think about it um yeah. Like i said.
I definitely recommend this it works. As you see um. So that is about all i have for you guys. I hope you enjoyed don t forget to like this video.
